Dr. Matatov is a general dentist dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients of all ages. Born and raised in Queens, NY, he graduated summa cum laude from St. John’s University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the prestigious Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, where he graduated with a Distinction in Research focused on laser dentistry, implantology, and periodontology. His research has been presented at national and international conferences, including the Academy of Osseointegration and the American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research Annual Meeting and Exhibition
At Stamford Dental Studio in Stamford, CT, Dr. Matatov is committed to providing high-quality, personalized care in a comfortable, patient-centered environment. Following dental school, he completed a General Practice Residency at NYU Langone Dental Medicine – Long Island, gaining extensive experience in all facets of general dentistry.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Matatov has a strong background in teaching and digital dentistry. At Stony Brook’s Center for Implant and Digital Technology, he trained dental students and residents in CAD/CAM workflows, including digital scanning, designing, and milling restorations. He is also actively involved in community outreach and humanitarian work, having provided care on weeklong dental mission trips with the Dominican Medical-Dental Society in the Dominican Republic, Remote Area Medical in Upstate New York, and through programs such as ADA Give Kids a Smile Day for patients with limited access to dentistry.
Patients appreciate Dr. Matatov’s gentle touch, attention to detail, and the way he takes time to explain treatment options in clear, honest terms. He believes in personalized, high-quality care—never a one-size-fits-all approach and works with each patient to create a plan that fits their goals, lifestyle, and long term oral health.
He is fluent in English and Russian and enjoys connecting with patients from many different backgrounds. Outside the office, Dr. Matatov enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling Europe, and staying current with the latest advances in dentistry so he can bring the best techniques and technology back to his patients.
